Would Someone Please Explain This, Is Fibro Autoimmune Or Not?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I found a question and answer on Google that just doesn't make sense to me. First I read that it may be different in different people,, meaning (?} that it could be autoimmune. Then it says Fibro is not autoimmune, which I thought it is. So, here's Google's answer.

Is fibromyalgia autoimmune or neurological?

They may be different in different people. Current research suggests involvement of the nervous system, particularly the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). Fibromyalgia is… read more

From what I understand it is not autoimmune. It is neurological and muscular. But, I am no expert.

How Much Has Food Sensitivities Entered Into Your Condition?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

My new doctor prescribed a food sensitivity test. He said that eating foods that my body has a reactionary response to could cause headaches and pain all over. I just got the results back a few days ago. So now I have something specific to do to help. I have a lot of hope. Wonder if you all have tried this, and to what degree did it help your symptoms?

Anyone Have The FM/a Test Done?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Someone posted about a blood test for validation of fibromyalgia. Has anyone done this?

www.TheFMtest.com has information on it.

I'll be calling about it next week, but wondering if there is anyone that's already had it done and what they thought of the test and the results.

A MyFibroTeam Member

Too bad it is taking so long for the next phase of the FM/a vaccine trial to begin. I just read that it might not be until 2022. I had the test done this past Fall of 2019. My score was 91. I felt… read more

How Do I Know For Sure I Have Fibro?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was only recently diagnosed with fibro. My doctor also said that he can't 100% guarantee that the diagnosis is right, because there aren't any tests for it. How do you know for sure that it is fibro? I have 90% of all the symptoms, but feel weird telling people I have fibromyalgia if I'm not even sure myself. But I would like to be able to somehow explain to people why I'm always in some kind of pain and so fatigued.

I think most people who read up on fibro know when they have it and in this day and age you are believed at least by the docs

Is This Fibro?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone. I’m a soon to be 40 year old woman (yikes?!) and mother of twin girls aged 7. I was diagnosed more than three years ago but have been having a hard time accepting my diagnosis. My symptoms have really become pronounced over the past 18 months after a few months of extreme stress. I have Raynaud’s in my hands, feet and nose (diagnosed at 38 with late age onset), bilateral thoracic outlet compression, dry burning eyes, disturbed sleep, fatigue, muscle pain often stabbing and sharp… read more

Trouble Accepting Diagnosis
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I pray that I don't offend any person at all with this question. I've been diagnosed 2 months ago in the horrible flare up that I have totally out of the blue. Btw I'm still in that flare up of excruciating pain and exhaustion. Okay here's the question and plz don't get mad. Did any of you have issues with accepting your diagnosis because of thoughts that there's no way this could be just fibromyalgia because I hurt too bad for it to be fibromyalgia? I didn't have any knowledge at all about… read more

Small Tender Lumps?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Small tender lumps pea size on upper right leg and left side of abdomen. I've had an abdominal CT Scan that came back clear. I can feel two on the left side of my stomach and two on my upper right inner leg. My PCP says I'm just a "lumpy person" and they are cysts. Ive had two doctors look and they dont seem concerned as they don't change in size. They never go away though?

I have them on my hips and it tangles and itches at night. The only thing that eases it is Lidocaine patches
