League City, TX Peeps!! Can Anybody Recommend A Doctor That Will Treat Pain, Migraines And Depression?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

My doctor of 15 yrs just retired. I went to a neurologist yesterday, but was woefully disappointed and downright mad. For $200 he talked to me about 5 minutes and wrote a script for Imitrex, without refills, stating that I needed to return every month and he couldn't prescribe pain meds or antidepressants. WHAT?!?! Can anybody recommend a good doctor that will deal with depression, migraines and pain?

Pain Relief From Acupuncture?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi all! I have heard a lot of mixed reviews in general about how effective acupuncture is. So, I'm curious how effective it has been for any of you with fibro pain, especially during flares. If you have done it, did you apply directly to the pain or elsewhere? How many times did it take to get relief? Was it long-term or short-term relief? Wondering if it's worth the cost. Thanks! For reference: I experience horrible muscle tensing in my back, shoulders, and neck that turns it all into a shell… read more

Exercise
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am trying very hard to loose weight and get back into exercise but I was wondering what sort of excercise other do that doesn't cause too much pain? I was wondering if anybody has tried yoga and what you thought of it?

A MyFibroTeam Member

Go slow, that's my best advice. It's a new normal, and the normal progression of exercise just doesn't seem to work well without throwing me into fibro flares. Presently, I walk 2-3 miles, jog about… read more

How Has Fibromyalgia Affected Your Marriage?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

My husband is getting very angry, frustrated, and lately says he is at the end of his rope because I struggle to work full time. (Even though Ive always had $ to contribute, but because I didnt work for it, it didnt count) . Now I ve held a casual/on-call job since October, which is the most employment I have had in 4 years! He no longer believes fibromyalgia is real and says I am lazy and lying. In the beginning he was my biggest supporter...Can anyone relate?
