Mast Cell Activation Syndrome
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone heard of or been diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome? I've just been referred to an allergy immunology specialist to test me for this and I find it interesting that Fibromyalgia (not just the symptoms of but fibromyalgia in itself) is considered a symptom of this disorder. Curious if anyone else has encountered this or has been diagnosed with this. From what I'm told it's hard to diagnose and takes a long time and a lot of doctors ruling stuff out to even suspect.

Burning Cheeks/face And Head
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone get burning of the face that is actually visible? Everything I read is that Fibro is the ‘invisible illness’ but mine isn’t, I burn with pain and actually visually burn too, so confused, the medical profession just give no answers 😢

Could Fibro Be A Form Of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Mast cell activation syndrome is when a type of white blood cells - mast cells, don't react in the right way to stimuli. It is thought that up to 70% of people in the 1st world have some form of it. It made me think if Fibromyalgia could be one such condition caused by these faulty cells?
