For those of you that are on Lyrica, did you feel just totally zoned out when/if the dosage was upped? My Dr put me on 225mg twice a day and I don't know if I can work like this!

I'm unsure if it was pregabalin or gabapentin that made me extremely ill, as I was prescribed both, one straight after the other. I was already using butrans patches on top of this. I remember I became so poorly, it was like the worst flare up ever. I felt so sick week in absolute agony all over my body at the same time I felt so poorly but I was going to die that's how bad I felt. I had the flu like symptoms, migraine - I couldn't move my head. I felt totally sick, the worst I've ever felt before and then edema, all over, which was so bad I couldn't put any shoes on, not even my slippers, my feet swelled so much and they were very painful. It was a horrible horrible experience and I was so upset because I truly wanted these meds to work and help my pain.
I can't remember which one was prescribed first. I was then prescribed the other one, (pregabalin or gabapentin) and then immediarely taken off the second one, because the oedema hadn't subsided, it took three months for the oedema to totally disappear, I was so disappointed.
I haven't been offered any other medication since and my doctor doesn't even like giving me naproxen, even though I use this sparingly, only after a flare up. I'm still taking the butrans 30 mg which don't seem to really help my all over pain, in my arms and shoulders, which are very painful at the moment, but it does help with the excruciating lower back pain but I still can't walk properly, unfortunately.
But I am glad that it does help other people but it just goes to show, how different everyone is, when it comes to taking pain meds. π€ππ€ XxxX
I have been on it for almost a year now. Started out 75mg morning and evening. Now taking 150mg morning and evening. It gives me a slight high feeling, foggy head and makes me sleepy sometimes. It absolutely takes away the tingles, burning and the feeling that bugs are crawling on me . does nothing for my pain. On Tramadol for that.
@A MyFibroTeam Member About 15 yrs ago, I started taking 150mg of Lyrica 3x a day and it made me jerk a lot. Finally the doctor stretched it out to 6hrs in between and that helped. I dropped the night time 150mg and I only take it twice a day as far apart as I can. I do pretty well with it. I honestly don't think I could get out of bed without it. Maybe try taking it that way would help. I still have problems remembering and spelling and the things I use to do quite well. I assume it is Fibro with the mixture of our meds. Hugs
