my doctor has just prescribed Lyrica for me & she told me to google it to find out more about it, which I did & I am now horrified & terrified of even trying it. the articles and opinions I have read regarding Lyrica make it sound like the drug from hell, I am now not sure whether to even try it has anyone had a positive reaction with Lyrica or is it really as bad as the internet & facebook make it out to be ?

I tried Lyrica with no sucess, went to Gabapentin, in process of weaning off. I have had fibro for 20 + years and have tried many different pills. Tired of pills leaving you doped up. In process of trying vitamins and herbs to see if that will help.
I take Gabapentin, I couldn't function on Lyrica. I am thinking of trying CBD oil. A friend of mine has fibro, she just started on it last Friday . She also bought a CBD oil rub for her knees and legs. So far she is saying the rub works well, still trying to get the dosage figured out on the other. If she has success, I am going to get some. I also have degenerative disc disease, bone spurs at L4 and L5, and peripheral neuropathy. I take gabapentin, hydrocodone and cymbalta. I have a low dose muscle relaxer for back spasms also.
I have been on Lyrica for a few yrs now. I found just going up slowly ( in my way not what the doctor said!) by 25mg every wk it lessened the side effects. Did get tired for the first few wks so just had a short nap when I could which helped . I also felt a little dizzy and I do lose my words which can be frustrating. I was on 300mg daily which was the best dosage for me took the edge off and helped with everyday pain. Only problem was the weight gain , I put on 8kg in the first few months. When I cut the lyrica to half that dosage the weight came off with a strict diet and exercise. I am now going back up to the 300mg as the lower dose was not doing its job. Just have to monitor my weight... All you can do is try it and see how you go . I've also been on Topomax, savella and beta blockers. I have found that lyrica has very few side effects compared to those !
I felt suicidal taking lyrical. Fortunately, I recognized this as a side effect and stopped immediately. I had a constant woozy/withdrawal type feeling on it. I could not take it. It made me feel worse.
When I lived in Nevada PCP referred me to cannibus dispensary I tried CBD but now live in California and just started pain management clinic, I only have norco ES Tylenol, Aleve and motrinin my system because I’m afraid CBD will show up in testing if any THC is in it
