Lyrica?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just started taking lyrica and I feel like a zombie. Can anyone tell me if this will go away after awhile? Also has it help with the pain of the fibro? I going to continue to take it to see but just wondering what I can expect.

Call the doctor and tell him/her how it is making you feel. The dosage may be wrong for you.

Rarely hear anything good about it.. are you doing other things besides the meds.. there are loads of things to try before getting onto Lyrica...

Must admit that I'm surprised anyone gave Lyrica a thumbs up. I have not heard good things about it. My own experience was that it DID at first help with the pain, HOWEVER, within the first 10-14 days I gained 15 pounds and had additional pain. It didn't help my sleeping, I felt like I was just dragging myself around and got very depressed. Called doctor and he took me off immediately. We experimented with other pain meds but I have had such adverse reactions from almost everything. The only one that caused weight gain was the Lyrica, but the weight gain caused extra stress on my joints/arthritis/energy. Finally we settle on Cymbalta which I've been on for at least 5 years--doctor added Viibryd to boost the antidepressant. I will be seeing him in August to re-examine how well things are working. I feel I need a change, like the positive effects have worn off. But I will not do Lyrica again. Good luck to those of you who find it helpful!!! Hugs
