Members connected over the shared experience of severe hand and finger swelling, with many describing waking up unable to make a fist or perform simple tasks like turning on a faucet, often accompanied by glossy, aching skin and swelling that extends to feet and other areas. Several members shared their medication routines, including gabapentin, meloxicam, and Tizanidine, noting that swelling often signals an oncoming flare that can last days, and mentioned frustrations with doctors dismissing symptoms or ruling out conditions like rheumatoid arthritis despite clear signs. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of being unable to do the simplest things and the comfort found in knowing others truly understand the daily struggles of living with fibromyalgia.

I was just talking to another girl about my fingers and my hand swelling some days it's so hard I can't even turn the faucet on the sink on I wake up in the morning and my fingers are so swollen that I can't even close my fist and it also affects my feet I take gabapentin and meloxicam also take Tizanidine and I have to take these religiously if I miss one dose and I can tell usually when I'm fixing to have a flare cuz I usually what happens my hands start to swell first and then my whole body starts hurting and then it puts me down for two or three days

Yes my hands, fingers and feet swell. They get glossy and ache. I have an itchy scalp. I've had hives. My back feels like I'm being hit with a sledge hammer. I have ringing in the ears. I've tried lots of med with extreme side affects. My PC didn't believe in fibro so not much help. Been hospitalized twice. First with pancreatis. Pancreatis caused heart attack. Did cath test no damage or blockages. Second past out sitting in chair. Hospitalized loop recorder installed. Pain is unreal. Butterfly kisses and soft hugs.
