I have the same issue. I swell so much i had to up my ring sizes. My legs, feet, and toes swell alot as well
If the swelling is in your lower extremities and you don't have any pain it could be edema. If you put some pressure on your ankles with your thumb and lift your thumb off and it leaves a slight indention for awhile them it is likely edema which can be caused by any number of things. Water retension can be a sign of high blood pressure or heart problems. If the swelling is in the joints and is red and hot to touch it could be arthritis. Swelling though should not be ignored and you are right to be concerned, I would encourage you see your doctor for treatment of what ever the cause. (not all swelling is dangerous as we as women sometimes have fluid retension during menstrual cycle or hormone fluctuations.

My lower extremities swell all the time. Got dx with peripheral edema, but I would get checked to be safe:)
