I read lots of people referring to flare ups. I take this to mean when pain is particularly high as well as other symptoms. I have what I call a crash every now and again. This is when the fatigue hits so hard some times I wonder how I keep on breathing! My whole body feels like a lead weight and all I wan to do is crawl into bed and never move again. It comes on very suddenly too. Does anyone else have this? Do you call it a crash or a flare up?

Members connected over the intense experience of what many call a 'crash' or 'flare,' describing sudden, overwhelming fatigue and pain that makes the body feel impossibly heavy, like hitting a brick wall or being made of iron. Several members shared that crashes often follow overexertion and can last anywhere from a few days to weeks, with symptoms including extreme muscle pain, bone aches, inability to move, sensitivity to light and sound, and cyclic vomiting in severe cases. A recurring theme was learning to pace oneself, accept limitations without guilt, appreciate good days when they come, and find hope in the fact that crashes may become less frequent or shorter over time with careful self-management.

I call it a flare because that's what it is , out of nowhere the pain intensifies or flares up and you can actually feel it ramping up. It gets to a level that's so high for me , I can't get comfortable, I can think for the high pain level, my body burns with a searing pain from top to bottom, my pressure points become inflamed, I can't bear to be touched , sounds light and smells bother me. Now not everyone's is the same but that's my definition of " flare up !"

I call it a crash, other may call it a flare . When this happens I feel like I've been hit by a bus! The muscle pain and bone ache in my legs is so bad, it's like a heavy weight is on my whole body. The overwhelming fatigue is just as bad as the the pain and I end up bed or sofa bound. This is pretty much how I was first 4 months , however I am glad to
Say not every day now. I crash when I've done just a little to much then I've realised and it will hit me the next day. The positive is it is only lasting a few days now as opposed to weeks or months! I'm a positive person on the whole, but when I crash I find it hard to maintain this due to the pain and fatigue. However, when I feel bit better I resume to my positive nature! Onward and upwards :)

Hope your crashes have become less frequent now x

if its fatigue and it hits like your body has just hit a brick wall? i think crash is a good description... but pain... i personally call it a flare if the pain hits hard.. harder than normal, as theres pain all the time...

Yes but I refer to it as hitting the wall, at that point I have nothing let to give I could just crumble to the floor. I hate that feeling and it comes on so fast
