Hi I wondered if anyone could share their experiences of Lyrica please. I'm curious to know does it help with their Fibromyalgia and does it have any side effects that interferr with their day to day living such as driving.
The first night I took lyrica I panicked and went to see my doctor first thing the next morning. .. i went to the toilet in the night and it was like I had drank 2 bottles of wine...i was staggering and sleepy and felt really weird...apparently it's common when u first start it..After a few weeks it went off...over 3 yrs my dose was 225mg a day...its caused random twitches in my body but noticed when I was tired it was worse. ..i was suffering bad with fatigue so doctor suggested coming off and changing to another med...After 6 weeks off coming off my pain has returned...really bad , so the lyrica was doing a great job for that...i have put on another 3 stone while taking it and constantly starving! since I've come off it i never feel hungry ..i can't believe the difference but it was great for the pain relief! X
I had to stop Lyrica. It started to cause a lot of cognitive issues for me, I could barely concentrate or do anything right at my job. My job can be very detail oriented, and I was making so many mistakes. I also had a similar issue with Neurontin (gabapentin). They both essentially made my fibro fog a lot worse.
I have been on it for 3 months . Had to cut down to what dr. First prescribed because of loopiness , more brain fog . I have a history of not tolerating medicine well . But this one is ok . Doesnt take all the pain away but does help . Just be careful of the loopiness ( drunken feel) . If you start to feel that take less then prescribed .and tell your Dr. Eat before u take it as well .
I have found Lyrica to be a G- D send. Helped greatly with my diabetic nerve pain and has reduced my fibro nerve pain. Am now taking 300 mg. Daily. Can't imagine my daytime hours without it.
I found lyrica made me dizzy. I was walking like i was drunk on a boat all the time.
