Lyrica
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I wanted to find out for the ones that take Lyrica does it work good. My doctors have thrown me on 4 different medication for the pain. I have no choice but to take it. It has taken over my brain in the sense I have to take it or I can't function right. I went from being independent to now being dependent. I no longer can drive. I always have to have somebody with me at all times because I can get lost real easy and if I dont take the medicine on time it is worse. I dont even know sometimes… read more

Wow! I just started on Lyrica and I'm glad to have come across your question because I now know what else to be alert for. I was like that last year I would be at a store and find myself asking myself how did I get here. I can't remember what meds I was on but I can truly relate to that feeling and I to had to depend on my daughter to drive me every where. It sucks! I hope you get better...

I take lyrica and it worked instantly. Nuerontin didn't work. I also take Norco and a small dose of long acting morphine and that controls my pain (but I've worked up to that).

Lyrica is likely to make you feel even more confused. I would ask a doctor to look over your case and your medications, in case a reaction to one of them is making you more forgetful. Perhaps a medication could be changed or eliminated for you. Because of your confusion and forgetfulness, it would be better to take you off of medication than to start something else. I am so sorry for what you are going through. I can no longer drive, and need a caregiver also. Prayers and hugs!
