Many community members related to experiencing shortness of breath even while at rest, describing it as frightening and difficult to manage, especially for those who never smoked. Several members shared that their doctors linked it to fibromyalgia, costochondritis, COPD, or low cellular energy from mitochondrial dysfunction. A recurring theme was the importance of gentle movement and self-advocacy, with one member sharing an encouraging reminder that staying as active as possible can help lung function and reclaim some control over daily life.

Yes I do at times. I was diagnosed with COPD several years ago but my last sleep study showed that my numbers were so good that Medicare and insurance would not consider the use of the bi-pap or the oxygen concentrator. But I had xrays prior to my my procedure last month which showed some emphysema. Go figure. I quit smoking back in 1987.

I also had it at times, but it was times when I was running and strength training. There were days I could run 3 miles and be fine, but some days I couldnโ€™t even walk up 4 steps without being winded. I always wondered why.

You know I posted earlier that I do at times. But I've been thinking. I don't exercise or walk like I used to. So my lungs aren't getting the exercise they need either. When I don't feel good, I don't take deep breathes. I also set around or lay down so much now. No wonder I get short of breath. I've got to try to do more walking as our weather it getting somewhat better. I'm the only one that can help my lungs function better. This fibromyalgia has broken us down but we have to take back some controls of our lives. Only thee
Lord can give me strength. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’
