For the first time today I experienced shortness of breath, could not even have a conversation for longer than 30 seconds without being out of breath.

Members urged someone experiencing sudden shortness of breath to contact their doctor immediately, with several noting that low oxygen levels require prompt medical attention and possible supplemental oxygen. Many members shared their own experiences with breathlessness related to fibromyalgia, describing how it differs from asthma, worsens with fatigue or stress, and can make even brief conversations or small movements exhausting, with some finding relief through reverse breathing techniques to manage panic. A recurring theme was the importance of thorough testing, including chest x-rays, oxygen monitoring with a pulse oximeter, and checking B12 and folate levels, as low levels of these vitamins can also cause breathlessness.

Call your doctor tomorrow. Make sure you stay on top of it. Sending gentle hugs.

Ask the doctor to have your b12 leaves checked, low b12 and folate can cause shortness of breath.

While you're waiting for your physical assessment you might want to order a finger pulse oximeter monitor for blood oxygen saturation and heart rate. They are very reasonable on Amazon.

Hi deon sorry to hear you are experiencing this, I have shortness of breath a lot. I'm also asthmatic but it is a completely different breathlessness for the last month I've been like this every movement and conversation I had was effort. I had a chest xray 3 weeks ago was all good thankfully.
Go and get it checked out to be on the safe side. I feel personally for myself the breathlessness comes the more I become fatigue. Take care
