I saw one for years and i never saw any change to my day to day pain. But the sessions were so relaxing. Its weird to say that having someone poke needles in you was relaxing, but it was.

I have tried it at five different physiotherapeuts and one homeopath in four different towns ( because I moved) Aspecially the needles in my cheek and my shoulders had effect. The ones I got on my back and pelvis at didn't have the same results. It was about 5 years between the different treatments. Every time I had acupuncture every week over a period of 6-12 weeks. But every time I had the same problem The first times the needles didn't hurt a bit, but then they started to hurt more every time, up to the point that I screamed loudly. I read that it is common for persons with fibro to develop more and more pain. I also read that acupuncture is usually not the best treatment for fibromyalgia patients. But many physiotherapist here in Sweden are trained in acupuncture and love using it. 30 years ago it was considered new age hokus-pokus. Now since it's effect is proven by science, it is approved by the state who subsidizes physiotherapy and healthcare for Swedish citizens. I was even offered acupuncture when I gave birth. Didn't help me at all unfortunately 🥴 Laser treatment on the other hand is not, approved for all conditions here but it had far better and long lasting effect. My latest physiotherapist suggested that it was probably only due to placebo. But I replied as usual that "my placebo is out if order! " Hardly any treatments or medications have any effect on my pain even though Im usually optimistic! I I have have tried soo many diets, pills and treatments that I shouldn't still be in pain if I had any placebo at all in my bones 😉
But back to acupuncture I don't mean to frighten anyone. It is worth a try. But I would recommend seeing a real acupuncturist pro. Not a nurse, homeopath or physiotherapist who have taken a short education in acupuncture.
And also, ask them to use the thinnest needles. There are different ones.
Have you been to a acupuncturist yet?
Hugs

I've done accuncture. It has helped with a pain I had in my neck and shoulder; however, I did not find that it helped with my everyday pain from Fibro.

I’ve had acupuncture it helped relieve my migraine headache, and helped with my shoulder and neck pain, but it’s not a long term fix .

Never helped relieve any pain for me. I didn't notice any difference after several treatments.
