How Many Of You With Fibromyalgia Have Had Thrombophlebitis In Foot
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question šŸ’

The top of my right foot looks like it has a blood clot in a vein which is right under the skin. Has this happened to any of you with fibromyalgia?

Hello all,

I went to doctor šŸ‘©ā€āš• today and saw an MD in person, but it wasn't my normal primary care physician. She was wonderful. It is superficial thrombophlebitis, which is concerning but not serious like deep vein thrombosis (DVT) which can cause serious lung issues if clot breaks away.

I didn't know that you could have a blood clot in a vein near surface of skin that in most cases not dangerous.

Anyways, I am to keep my right foot šŸ‘£ elevated above my heart šŸ’Ÿ for two continuous days to see if resolves itself. So that is what I am doing. She also told me several things to watch for that I should call office immediately if they happen. I am glad I saw her.

On Thursday if I still have issue I am to call and ask to speak to my own doctor šŸ‘©ā€āš• for next steps.

As far as I know, I have not had COVID.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, did you have the coronavirus? If yes, be carful, the virus causes blood clots. Iā€™m glad you are seeing a doctor today, blood clots can be serious
