Running Out Of Meds To Try. Help!
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Ive dealt with fibro since 2012 and have tried all of these meds...

Gabapentin (somewhat effective but I felt crazy)
Savella (made me sick: dizzy, nauseous, clammy)
Lyrica (effective at first but stopped later on)
Cymbalta (effective for pain but the worst side effects)
Tramadol (candy for children)
Flexeril (works for normal pain level. Not in a flare up)
Amitryte(spelling?)(made me sick)

Now im just down to Flexeril at night but its not cutting it. What else could I try?

For pain I would suggest Nucynta, it is effective and has less opioids in it, so doctors are more willing to prescribe it. I haven’t heard much good about Lyrica and/or Cymbalta. I’m guessing you’re from the UK? As I have never been prescribed Savella. My husband takes Celecoxib (200mg capsules) for anti-inflammatory and he says it works.
I know it’s difficult with all these meds to find one that works and that the doctors will prescribe. Lavender essential oil helps with pain, relaxation/sleep, & and an anti-inflammatory. Plus it smells So good! Try Aspercreme Lidocaine, they also have a roll-on, a lotion, a spray (kind of a dry spray) and stick on patches for topical pain relief or see if your doctor will prescribe Diclofenac Gel which is generic Nueurontin with the added bonus of an anti-inflammatory mixed in it.
Good Luck & God Bless!
STAY HOME, STAY SAFE & STAY WELL ! ! !

I/ we most of us with this pain that can't be explained have been on these and more. I don't talk of the pain much but here we have to let others know that we are not alone.
I have had this for many years and most part I'm taking a THC /CBD balance oil. I find it helps. I also know that there are days that nothing helps.
Peace Roger

You need to see an understanding Doctor and give him the above list of medications that haven't agreed with You.

There are many other medications that may help you just remember all medications have side effects, it is just how much you can handle and live with if the medication is working.

Just go to Google and put in the Search Bar "List of Fibromyalgia Medications" many you may have tried but there will be many more that you haven't.

Hope you find suitable medications that are working for You.

Like you I tried so many meds which i reacted badly to. My specialist put me on Clonidine (used for high blood pressure, ADHD and menopause) after he read some research about it possibly helping Fibro patients. We had tried everything he could think of so we decided to try it out. It has helped hugely and I havent reacted badly to it!!! It has also helped my partner who has Fibro as well. I take a 25mg tablet morning and night. 😊
