Members shared where they experience lower back spasms, with many describing pain that radiates along the spine, ribs, and trapezius muscles, often accompanied by sensations resembling electrical shocks or muscle contractions. Several members noted that their spasms occur on both sides of the body but tend to be worse on one side, with some experiencing intense rib pain that feels like dull aching or squeezing. A recurring theme was the frightening and unfamiliar nature of these spasms, with one member recalling their first episode being severe enough to prompt an emergency room visit.

@A MyFibroTeam Member sounds just like my same areas. Do you get it on both sides? And do you know if it’s myofascial pain syndrome? My pain is worse on my left, but I get similar pain in the same areas on my right.

JessicaGardner, I do get it on both sides. It’s extreme on the left now. I don’t think it’s myofacial but don’t really know.
