I haven't been diagnosed yet, but I had widespread pain all over my body for several months. Now it seems concentrated only in the front of one shin, which is weird, because there's basically no muscle there and no joints. I know widespread pain is the hallmark of fibro, but can it sometimes be concentrated only in one area? Or a couple areas? Do you have the same areas all the time, or do you sometimes get new pain sites? I'm trying to understand more about it all.

I can get pain anywhere at anytime in the weirdest places. Sometimes it is a sharp pain, sometimes generalized. I try to think whether I hurt myself or not.
It’s usually that I didn’t.
I wake up with pains. Sometimes its only in my arms, but sometimes its my hips, sometimes its one side of my body. Then it radiates everywhere. There were days that it was just my left leg and I thought I broke my leg, but xray shows nothing. I also remember having to sleep in neckbrace because it felt like my neck is broken, but no sign of damage inside. There are so many symptoms that just pops up out of nowhere. But keep a journal because if its really FM, you will experience so many things.
Sometimes all over but often one place that will be worse or the only place hurting and that can last for weeks or longer. Hurting all over today but got stuck in the snow while driving yesterday so probably the stress and using the clutch. Different things can effect us and no one is the same. When I have a flare it tens to concentrate in one area
both,, sometimes one place,, sometimes all over,, sometimes when i try to figure out what hurts it feels like it moves to the next spot which is what finally made me realize its in my brain and nerves not really my body
My pain is centrally located in my shoulders and neck....constantly. However I have days where my back hurts all day, or my pelvis. I find it funny that my thumb joints are often painful. So yes pain can be many places.
