An episode of The Golden Girls shows Dorothy's experience with male physicians that demonstrated sexism and prevented her from receiving a vital diagnosis.
She had CFS!!!
Here is a link to a recent article regarding it.
How much has changed with the medical community and its attitudes towards women?
How do female medical persons treat other female patients?

I remember that episode and I was so mad at the doctor. The sexist attitudes are still rampant unfortunately.
Thanks for posting this .
Yes i got the cold shoulder from females at the hospital because the male nurses used to say the pretty lady it was not my fault Love Jacque OXOX
Yes, I remember😊
I loved that episode when she told her doctor off in the restaurant. Priceless
I've found that it is the basic personality of the doctor. Male or female.
We can not always assume that just because the doc is male or female we will be treated a certain way. The doctors are trained to disasociate with a patient.
Treat them clinically ,not personally. Now, a family practice doctor , or GP may be different than other doctors like in an ER. ER doctors have to maintain distance to preserve objectivity . They can afford to be too personal , shall I say? But, yeah, comes down to basic personality.
