Hello all. After dealing with pain for a few years, my doctor thinking maybe it was Fibro. They wanted me to go on Cymbalta and see if it helped. I decided to try and treat it myself first with CBD oil prescribed through a Dr I was referred to. It was helping with the pain, but I was still finding myself really tired all of the time. It was around this time I developed some problems and the hospital referred me to a cardiologist for an arrhythmia. I am now on a beta blocker for that. I have also… read more
Cymbalta is an anti-depressant/anti-anxiety med we very much need because those are 2 very serious fibro effects. I've never heard of read anything about fibro and heart disease and I would advise you to not change your hear med unless told to do so by your heart doctor. You might want to know what your options are before doing anything.
I was just prescribed propranolol (beta blocker) yesterday due to an increase in my heart rate and resting heart rate, as well as arrhythmia at random times like when I am just watching tv sitting on the sofa. My doctor thinks it might be possibly due to Ehlers-Danlos, as that's what they thought I had even prior to me being diagnosed with likely fibromyalgia. Apparently, the 2 disorders overlap a lot for some people, and ED can continue to some heart arrhythmia or POTS issues. Hoping the propranolol will help :) My doc suggested Cymbalta but I chose to hold off on that for now, as one of the possible side affects is an increased heart rate with Cymbalta and I didn't want to chance it. Definitely keep an eye on it as you change meds, and let your doc know if you feel "off" or concerned. All the best!~
YES--I had problems with it to begin with until they found the proper med for me
My heart races quite often, can go to 130 while I’m resting at which point I feel confused and weak and so cold, I generally crash out for a few hours then wake up fine. I have had tests done which came back normal, i have identified some food triggers... Parmesan cheese and msg are on my no go list. I know it’s difficult not to get stressed with heart issues. I felt reassured when tests showed my heart is working properly and also hearing from my rheumatologist that it’s a common problem with his other fibromyalgia patients.
