Does Fibro Affect Your Taste Buds?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Some days i feel like i am going crazy as 1 day i can find something tastes yummy and the next hour/ day the same thing doesnt taste good. This is a new thing for me and Im not sure whats going on. Eating for me is hard enough with the nausea so now having my taste buds do weird things is not helpful. Eg. I found a muesli bar that i really liked but then today i had one and didnt like the taste at all, exact same bar. Can your taste buds be affected from fibro?

I think over time our taste buds can be altered definitely and I think having fibromyalgia can most certainly affect what you can and can't eat. So it is possible that this has happened.

Yes I have also found this as well have gone off many foods because I no longer like the taste of them anymore.

Actually never thought that this could be another symptom of Fibromyalgia. 💖

I dont know the medical answer to this but it happens to me too. More and more lately I notice nothing tastes the same anymore. Really sucks when you can't taste your favorite things anymore. 😒

Yes, I’m also noticing I’m loosing my sense of taste. Food is tasting bland to me which is sad bc I’ve always enjoyed savory food.
