The question should be; Is anyone on Metformin for their diabetes and are they pain free?
I have not heard anyone on here claiming their diabetic medicine is relieving their pain symptoms.
Very skeptical. My husband has fibro too and is a diabetic as well--takes metformin daily and does NOTHING for his pain.

Fibro patients are more susceptible to higher blood sugars and insulin resistance from what I've read. So the article mentioned above is not totally "new" news. Altho metformin can have some adverse side effects, Berberine in a supplement that has great reviews on Amazon for lowering blodd sugars to the point where people can actually get off or at least their insulin dosage. I'm pre-diabetic and take it daily and it has lowered my A1C levels to a good normal range. I'm happy with it.
Gluten (which is all GMO now, simple carbs, sugar, dairy, alcohol, tobacco, can all cause inflammation in the body, so some relief is absolutely expected when removing them from your diet.
