Cortisone Shot For Hip Pain
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone had cortisone shots for hip dysplasia or bursitis? Was it helpful?
How long did you need to 'take it easy' afterwards?
I've had epidural shots in neck and back that were somewhat helpful. I've had cortisone shots (not epidural) in my shoulder.
But never in a weight bearing joint like the hip. Doc said not to do any overly physical activity afterwards. I don't bounce back from even simple procedures like l did a few years ago, so any thoughts or advice are appreciated.

Had cortisone shots for my hip. Pain was gone. I was told to take it easy the next few days, not strenous work. I also had cortisone shot for my ankle. That hurts more but it also took the pain away. Been years already, didn't have any pain back.

Hi,
I just had one last Thursday. It was not painful and I rested the afternoon but the next day I did my usual and was fine. I have SI joint dysfunction so this was done strictly for the bursitis. I hope you do well!!

I have gotten cortisone injections in both hips one time for fibromyalgia. My hip pain was so bad and I was going to be traveling and knew there was no way I could tolerate a car trip. It was well worth the temporary pain of the injections . The effects lasted for awhile also. I would do it again.Hope this helps!
