Does anyone else find these tests unbearable and extremely painful. It has stopped me from going to them because they are so painful. Any advice or have you experienced the same?

I used to but then I discovered vaginal dilators which taught me how to relax. I also ask for the smallest now, and my nurse is happy to let me do the insertion, which helps massively x

I have a lot of pain during paps too, but I assumed it was due to my tilted cervix... I hadn't considered the effect of fibro, but it makes a lot of sense. I asked for the smallest speculum, and it helped ease pain, but only by a little.

I have a retroflexed uterus which make mine difficult. I didn't make it thru last 2 times and the dr used a pediatric device. I'm almost 60 so I guess it wanted to dry up and go home!☺ Ask your dr to use a pediatric device and see if that helps! Good luck!

I had a hard time back when I had female parts. Total hysterectomy took care of that. Can't do mammograms either. Just tell them upfront that you have FMS and that simple things like cold instruments can send pain signals. My doctor in Houston used prewarmed instruments. That helps.
