Okay so over the last few years my periods have been getting worse and worse. And i mean i cannot function and almost have to go to the hospital because the pain is so bad. I went in to my doc to discuss birth control as well as these symptoms because i had suspicions of endometriosis. I have pain after sex, feeling full. nowhere for food to go when i'm on my period even if i haven't eaten at all. Basically she told me that these symptoms are "unfortunately normal for women, especially after a… read more
Definitely get a second opinion. I had endometriosis since I started my period until I had a hysterectomy at 35. Your symptoms do sound like endo but because of the pre cancerous cells, I would see another doctor. My friend had pre cancerous cells and they burned or scraped them and she never did get cancer. Thank god. I hope you find a more compassionate doctor that will check you out more thoroughly. Good luck. Hugs
I've had massive amounts of pain with my period for years and similar to you have almost gone to the hospital because of it. My gyno "diagnosed" endometriosis (you can't get an official diagnosis without surgery) and put me on continuous birth control so that I wouldn't have to go on huge doses of vicodin and ibuprofen for a few days every month. At this point my body still forces me to have a period every three months or so, but four times a year is way better that twelve. I've also had an abnormal Pap before, for me it has ended up being nothing, but they did do a biopsy right after it to confirm it wasn't cancer or precancer and then checked me once a year since then. I'd recommend taking Kathryn's advice and seek a second opinion from a gyno.
I’m sorry you’re going through so much pain but I wanted to tell you that that pain is NOT normal to have during a cycle. I experienced intense pain that prevented me from walking so I went to my doctor and got an ultrasound. Turns out I have endometriosis. I am currently on progesterone pills to stop the endometrioma on my right ovary from growing but it’s already attached to my uterus from scarring. I’m waiting on a thorough exam to determine the extent of it. The progesterone has stopped my periods and really cut back the pain. Advocate for yourself. Demand an ultrasound. Go see a specialist! You deserve much better care than that!
You need to make an appointment ASAP w/ a gynecologist!!!! Do not fool around w/ this or wait a yr to get another Pap smear!!!! I am not trying to scare you but you have the same symptoms as my daughter had. Her Dr told her she had a bladder infection & she didn't need to have a Pap smear for 3 yrs. She is no longer here because of it. Get another opinion w/ a specialist ASAP!!!! And contact me at (Email address can only be seen by the question and answer creators) if you need to talk & your scared.
Please get a second opinion. I agree with what everyone has said. You cant ignore these things. It annoys me when they say its normal. None of that sounds normal and if you KNOW somethings wrong, you need to nag them to pay attention. Sending lots of hugs and I hope you get some answers soon.
