Hi all

Im 35 and I have oseto arthritis, chronic pain and was diagnosed with Fibro a few years ago. In the last 8 months I have had hot flashes most weeks and night sweats, Ive also had heightened anxiety (I would say anxiety rather then low mood or depression) which I havent suffered from since I was a teenager. I have been to the gp and had hormone blood tests because I wad very concerned about potential early menopause, but my blood tests have come back normal.

Has anyone else suffered from… read more

Members rallied around someone experiencing sudden hot flashes, night sweats, and heightened anxiety despite normal hormone tests, with many sharing that these symptoms are commonly associated with fibromyalgia rather than early menopause alone. Several members described experiencing similar floating anxiety that appears without cause, temperature fluctuations that range from freezing extremities to sudden burning heat, and night sweats that differ from typical menopausal symptoms, with many urging thyroid testing as an additional step since thyroid issues often accompany fibromyalgia. A recurring theme was the frustration of not knowing whether new symptoms are part of the fibromyalgia journey or something separate, coupled with reassurance that anxiety and temperature dysregulation are widely recognized aspects of living with the condition.

I started menopause at about 40, which is really unusual for my family as everyone else was well into their 50s. I read somewhere that early menopause is common with FM but I did not really start symptoms of this syndrome until about 7 years ago when I was about 48. Hot flashes are also common with FM. I too have what is called floating anxiety...not associated with an event it just comes.... I HATE this most of all because I did not suffer from anxiety before having FM. Like you, I am lucky I don't suffer from depression as this is also common with FM. Take care and have a good weekend :o)

I’m so sorry you have to experience all of this. I was diagnosed in my late twenties and can tell you the anxiety goes hand and hand with fibro. I was depressed as a very young child and I really believe that depression and anxiety is a factor of fibro. Good luck Sweety. I find when I can walks exercise helps a lot. Thi chi is wonderful. Healthy diet. 🙏🏻

I am 71 yrs old,so I have been through all of that , I do suffer from severe anxiety , diverticulitis, some RA, and fibro, I would have to say, that most of your symptoms are from fibro. I just was put on Buspar for my anxiety, which I think is starting to kick in. Your still so young, but I do have a lot of the same symptoms. Good luck. Hope your Dr’s can fiqure it out. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻

I started to develop night sweats at night around PMS. So I have them for about a week and then they go away. They aren’t drenching sweats, just enough to be damp. I’m 33 and have had this checked out. I think I’m going through peri menopause.

I get hot flashes alot where my hair gets soaked and several people on here do too. i think it is from fibro. i had a hysterectomy 17 years ago and went thru the fun night sweats then but this comes on out of nowhere. the changes in mood and anxiety could be the hormone fluctuations since your close to menopause.I hope this easies your mind a bit. Hugs
