Members offered comfort and practical strategies for managing severe chest wall and shoulder pain, with many relating to the fear and intensity of symptoms that can feel frightening and overwhelming. Several members shared what has helped them find relief, including trigger point injections, prednisone for pericarditis, Voltaren gel, gentle massage therapy that gradually increases in pressure, and learning that chest and rib pain are recognized fibromyalgia symptoms through educational resources like YouTube videos. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of living with chronic pain while caring for loved ones, met with encouragement to keep pushing forward, lean on faith and support systems, and not give up even on the hardest days.

Gina you also said rib pain and I just did a YouTube called 200 symptoms of fibromyalgia posted by fibro mom and rib pain is also a symptom of fibromyalgia. I get that as well and before I did her survey I always thought the rib pain was from a previous rib injury or from the double herniated disc I have in my spine. I learned something new from her YouTube. I found I had over a hundred and fifty symptoms of fibromyalgia that she named.

Oh girl! Yes! Massage that starts gentle and slowly working up to more intense works wonders without meds. But it takes a while to work up to it. I had to bite my lip sometimes due to pain and my massage therapist said don’t! I was to tell her if it was that intense and she would decrease pressure instead. Massage is my medicine mostly. I have to have it to displace the pain pockets (that’s what I call them).

I have shoulder pain. My doctor does trigger point injections for it and it helps a lot.

It sounds like that's your clavicle bone which is one of the tender points and fibromyalgia. I know that's where I get the pain from that feels like it's a chest pain if you press on those bones is that the pain that you're feeling in your chest?
