Every few weeks I get a slight swelling on my neck, below the ear, sore to touch. Muscle down my neck is sore to move and sore to the touch. Painful to swallow, turn my head. I get it on either side of my neck. This has been happening for a few months. Does anyone else get this?

Members strongly related to experiencing neck, throat, ear, and jaw pain, with many identifying TMJ (temporomandibular joint syndrome) as a common culprit that often occurs alongside fibromyalgia. Several members shared practical coping strategies, including wearing custom mouth guards at night to prevent teeth grinding, seeking specialist care from ENT doctors or dentists, and recognizing that stress and anxiety can worsen symptoms. A recurring theme was the exhausting combination of swollen glands, difficulty swallowing and chewing, and the challenge of managing multiple overlapping conditions, yet members encouraged each other to stay positive and keep advocating for answers.

Swollen glands are a Fibro symptom apparently, and although I have never met anyone with this symptom, it is on the list as common.

Here is a link to a site that explains the symptoms. TMJ seems to be common in people with Fibro.
