Members shared a wide range of experiences regarding what initially triggered their fibromyalgia, with physical trauma being the most commonly mentioned catalyst, including difficult childbirths, car accidents causing neck injuries, and gallbladder surgery complications. Several members described emotional and psychological factors as potential triggers, such as childhood trauma, stress, and other traumatic life experiences, while others pointed to autoimmune responses, gut dysbiosis, chronic infections, and pregnancy as possible root causes. A recurring theme was the ongoing challenge of identifying and managing daily flare-up triggers once fibromyalgia has set in, with stress being named as a nearly universal aggravating factor, and the frustration that doctors often struggle to connect the dots between symptoms and underlying causes.

There is a strong connection between gut dysbiosis and fibro as well.
I have chronic gastritis. If your gut goes out of balance, it effects everything. This has caused a downward spiral of malnutrition, thyroid, gallbladder, liver, heart, lungs, brain issues. The Internet has plenty of information on this yet the doctors cannot connect the dots, so I continue to live in a miserable state.

Do you mean a trigger for the original onset of fibro? Or, do you mean a trigger that seems to "trigger" the exacerbation of what is already there? This whole thing is quite a guessing game as to what, how and when the condition actually started and then continues to be a trial and error guessing game as to what makes symptoms worse and remember to stay away from whatever that is.

Mine was triggered by autoimmune response. I have a very high positive ANA, Thyroid antibodies, CFS, dry eyes, mouth (Sjogren's) Rhumatic was positive, and neuropathy...just to name a few. I have had chronic candidiasis since my teenage years migraines, now I have suddenly developed allergies to just about everything around me.

For me my trigger was a very difficult delivery of my second daughter, I was never the same after that, but physical or emotional trauma can trigger fibro, I read about everything I could find on the subject but unfortunately I have never found a post about a cure, praying it will be soon, love and hugs

For me it was a car accident that cause a neck injury. Fibro symptoms were full blown just a few months after the accident.
