Poppy, there are general symptoms that we all have. Like aching, pains, insomnia, And then there seems to be several subsets of fibromyalgia that have a certain amount of different symptoms. Like tremors, neuropathy, extreme chronic fatique. It’s a long list. Triggers might be, insomnia, physical, or emotional stress, the weather, illness, diet. Try to google fibromyalgia and read up on it. Also google Pininterest and Fibromyalgia. Hope this helps🩷🌷 Victoria

What are the common symptoms of fibromyalgia and what triggers them?

Fibromyalgia symptoms vary for everyone and can change over time. The most common symptoms include:

- Chronic widespread muscle pain (shooting, burning, stabbing, tingling, aching, or throbbing)
- Fatigue that doesn't improve with rest
- Headaches that can last for days
- Difficulty sleeping or waking up tired
- Anxiety and panic attacks
- Brain fog (problems with memory, focus, and concentration)
- Digestive issues like bloating and constipation
- Sensitivity to light, noise, and temperature

Common triggers that can make symptoms worse include:

- Being cold
- Feeling tired
- Emotional or physical stress
- Getting too little exercise
- Poor sleep or sleep disturbances

Symptoms often come and go in patterns, with flare-ups when symptoms worsen and periods of remission when they lessen. A MyFibroTeam member described it well: "I seem to go up then down with fatigue. I don't know why."

If your symptoms are affecting your quality of life, talk to your rheumatologist or primary care provider about pain management options and strategies to reduce triggers.

Check out "Running On Empty" which has brilliant Dr. David S. Bell's Symptom List, which helped me to realize it is MEDICAL, not mental, post 2.5 years of being deliberately mis-diagnosed. It's only a summary, and this is Progressive so more and more Systemic Dysregulations pile on via exposures to more of the seven Cumulatively Disaffective Triggers. My prior posts have more info and resources. ME-CFS has even more, plus Treatments to mitigate, but big pharma wants to keep making huge profits on slapping drugs on symptoms. There's more, perhaps for later. Also 'hits' of Adrenaline are dangerous... I try to steer clear where feasible.
