@A MyFibroTeam Member people are so ignorant. They spout off their opinions like they are experts. I am taking classes to learn about emotional regulation. We just learned about the 3rs for anger management. Retreat, rethink, respond. So before saying anything, retreat from the situation. Not easy for me!!!

Trauma at some point in life. Car accident anything abusive. A huge shock as in the death of a loved one. There are quite a few.. I like the avoiding cigarettes because we are all so happy we don't need something to suck on.
Cold is bad for me and extreme heat. I did alot today was sweating walking home. Got in finished my chores then got really cold. That's when the heat pad comes out. The weather is a huge part of when I go splat!
Also irritating people who joke about fibro. I.could seriously thump then right on the beak.
I workout a lot always have, be it walking yoga dancing. I still do these thing but less strenuous workouts. Pacing is a must. Sometimes a simple brush of a sheet or clothes can hurt. Lack of sleep.
Drinking lots of water helps and eating well. I'm not bothered about healthy all of the time. If I can't have choccy and ice cream what's the point πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜ hope that helps sweetheart 😘

What environmental and psychological factors can trigger fibromyalgia?

Several environmental and psychological factors have been linked to the development of fibromyalgia symptoms:

Environmental Triggers:
- Physical trauma from automobile crashes or surgery
- Infections such as hepatitis C, Lyme disease, and HIV
- Sleep disturbances (some researchers believe these may actually cause fibromyalgia symptoms rather than result from them)
- Smoking cigarettes
- Higher body weight

Psychological Triggers:
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Depression
- Emotionally traumatic events like divorce, abusive relationships, or death of a loved one
- History of childhood abuse (though more research is needed to confirm this link)

The Stress Connection:

Stress plays a significant role in fibromyalgia. There's a two-way relationship where stress can trigger or worsen symptoms, and living with fibromyalgia increases stress levels, creating a challenging cycle.

Chronic stress leads to heightened sensitivity in the nervous system, making you more susceptible to pain. This is especially relevant since the central nervous system in fibromyalgia may already process pain signals differently.

While you can't control all risk factors, focusing on what you can change may help - like eating a healthy diet, getting enough rest, avoiding cigarettes, and finding effective ways to cope with stress.

I have always had a problem with anger as well. I notice if you don't respond, they get more angry. They seem to enjoy it when you do respond. I've got to get back to listening to Roy Masters he has insightful meditation tape.
