Does anyone else have such severe severe back and neck pain that it becomes like a hardened and stuck like armor or a shell? It seems to get exacerbated by stress or being seated for a while.
This hardened feeling is accompanied by extreme pain and discomfort.
I use a heating pad and the hot/cool spray and pads but they don’t really help. This is beyond hot shower help. I take muscle relaxers and Ativan as needed. The only real relief I find is by getting massages but those are so extremely… read more

Good morning funny thing for me is I had a 3,000 dollar bed woke up everyday in more pain I bought a king Ghost bed and I dont wake up anymore with a back ache the ones you see on TV that come in a box I have had it for a month now it helps and no I dont work for the company I am on disability :(
I also had 2 neck surgeries and i have 3 herniated and 2 buldging discs in my low back. I know it is extremely painful. When my back goes out, i have had to use a walker just to get around my house. I use ice several times daily and heat when ice doesn't help. I take flexeril 3 times a day and oxycodone too. It takes enough of the pain away that i can usually function most days. If you don't have a pain management doctor, you should get one. Fibro is bad enough to deal with but back pain can be totally unbearable. I hope yiu find some relief soon. I also use icyhot or any of those type creams. Just do not put that on and use heat. I can use ice with them but i am immune to ice on bare skin from years of using them. Good luck. Hugs
I first experienced this pre-fibro diagnosis and it was put down to muscle spasms and nerve compression related to my long standing lumbar spin problems. I didn't find any medication helped but then I've been taking pills for so long I don't think they work anymore. It returns every now and again and I find bed rest the most helpful, maybe because it takes the weight of my spine. I also use a tens machine but can't decide whether it helps or not. Although it stimulate muscles, my thinking is that forcing them to move might help them return to a more normal state - possibly in the same way a massage might help but with tens you can control the intensity.
I get the same type of symptoms with my back and neck, i have laminate flooring and find relief lying on it. Just a blanket underneath and i can lie there for hours as its the only relief i get. I am not saying it will help you but it helps me. I hope it helps you god bless.
Don’t underestimate the power of stretchy. It really helps. Find a good video or stretching app
