Members shared widespread experiences with severe lower back pain that limits standing, causes nighttime discomfort, and often radiates down the legs, with many identifying sciatica or pinched nerves as potential culprits alongside fibromyalgia. Several members offered practical relief strategies, including hot tub soaks, massage, steroid injections, and one surprising but effective tip of wearing a knee brace at night to relieve pressure on the sciatic nerve. A recurring theme was the profound impact of chronic back pain on daily life, with many describing difficulty sleeping, exercising, or leaving the house, alongside shared frustration when treatments like injections or surgery provide little lasting relief.

I have severe tender areas on both hips and lower back. It causes my right leg to ache all the ay down to y knee. At night I flip from side to side because the side I am lying on hurts. Iys a really tough night when both hips hurt even the side I'm not lying on

The low back pain and utter exhaustion were my first symptoms - several years before being diagnosed. JuliRichardsonRoss could have been describing me exactly!

Suzanne I thought it was the craziest thing to do. Wearing a knee brace to help my sciatic nerve, but my doctor told me that the knee brace was taking the pressure off my sciatic. When I would go without wearing my brace, I would pay for it the next morning. I hope this helps.
