Yes, I have been to so many Dr's that don't listen to my symptoms or just plain don't care. They leave me feeling like I have to prove my illnesses are real or that they even exist too begin with. I get so frustrated! Every time I go for a new consultation I have to deal with the same problem. I have multiple health problems which compounds the issue. I have actually been told that fibro doesn't exist by one quack. Thankfuly I have found a rheumatologist that listens, time will tell how well. It is hard when a Dr leaves and you have to start all over.

I have run into many doctors like this over the years, so when I find a doctor who really does listen, I consider them a jewel. I like it when doctors are open to alternative therapies besides just the Western model of medicine. Some doctors claim that alternative therapies are unscientific, and that might be the case in some of the very out there stuff that is associated with the occult. But some therapies like acupuncture have been studied and found to be helpful in the treatment of pain. So I like doctors to be open-minded.

Definitely before diagnosis.

The local hospitals hate me. A big chunk of my family work in the medical field. I know when they are lying to me. I will also go all the way to the head of the hospital if I feel they screwed up. The problem is that sometimes when you are in really bad shape, you are not the best advocate for yourself until after they did something.

It took me 20 years to get diagnosed. I found out that my one doctor was not even putting stuff in my records! I had another tell me it was my diabetes. I have only been diabetic for 5 years. I have had my blood sugar monitored regularly for over 20 years. I was not just undiagnosed. In October I went in for abdominal pain. I thought maybe Pancreatitis again. They treated me like I was a junkie. I cannot even take pain pills. They can kill me. They kicked me out of the ER. I found out yesterday that I had a 2mm kidney stone that they never told me about. I am frustrated that because I have chronic pain, I am ignored.
