I hear some folks on here talk about Essential Oils and I'm wondering about it. How do you know what kind works and how do you use them??

Members shared mixed experiences with essential oils for fibromyalgia management, with some finding relief using peppermint for headaches, lavender for sleep, cedarwood for anxiety, and lemon or lemongrass for energy boosts through diffusers or topical application. Several members cautioned that essential oils can be toxic to cats and other pets, affecting their livers, which led some to stop using diffusers altogether despite enjoying the aromatherapy benefits. A recurring theme was skepticism about effectiveness, with one member trying oils for a full year without noticing any difference, while others emphasized that pharmaceutical treatments remain their primary choice and urged caution around pyramid scheme companies.

If you have animals please be careful using them. The vets are finding out they are very toxic to animals. Only thing I use is Lavender Epsom Salt and baking soda soak. Wish there were oil I could use and not hurt my animals.

I use peppermint oil when I’m getting / have a bad tension headache or migraine. I put it on my lobes and use a diffuser and put it by my bed. I also use other calming oils like lavender for my pillow to help me sleep. Cedar wood also is very calming for me and I put it on my chest as it aids my anxiety. Lemon and lemongrass are great pick me ups / wake ups. Any can be put into a diffuser.

While aroma therapy can help with some things I wouldn't advise anyone to go with Essential Oils the company is a pyramid scheme and the FDA has spoken out against them.
