I tried chamomile and some others but none of them helped. Honestly my favorite teas are black teas, which have caffeine, and they help me get to sleep better than any others.
I have taken valerian capsules and it did make me sleepy, but I have not tried the tea. Chamomile tea definitely puts me to sleep, but only for 4 hours exactly and then I am wide awake unless I drink it again. I have no explanation for that one! I find essential oil in a diffuser on my night stand with a slumber oil in it works best for me and I thought maybe it was all in my head until my husband said he sleeps better with the essential oil too. I wish you the best of luck and hope you find something that works for you.
They do make vallerian root in pill form. See why i call it butt root.haha
I tried it last night but it didn't help. It smelled awful! I don't know if I needed more cups of tea for it to work but it smelled so bad it was a miracle that I drank all of the first cup!
I use melatonin. Sometimes I use camomile tea too.
