Members opened up about the deeply frustrating experience of memory loss with fibromyalgia, with many describing significant short-term memory problems that affect daily tasks like remembering where keys are, recalling conversations mid-sentence, or even recognizing familiar objects. Several members shared coping strategies that have helped them, including writing notes constantly, using word association tricks, slowing down and giving themselves time to remember without getting anxious, and surrounding themselves with understanding friends who know about fibro fog. A recurring theme was the relief of knowing they are not alone, the importance of ruling out other causes like dementia or brain tumors through medical testing, and the reminder that frustration and anxiety only make fibro symptoms worse.

Yes I do, it is Fibro Fog. It is one of the side effects of fibromyalgia. Try I do not get anxious about it. Just slow done and think, what you want to say. It will come to you in good time. Many times I just cannot remember things. But I just relaxed, and continue to try and remember and in good time I remembered, some times I will be speaking to someone and in the middle of the conversation I have to stop and think what to say. I will say to them, sorry it is my Fibro Taking over. If we get to anxious it will get worse. Just relax, do what you can to help yourself. Have a good evening. Lots of hugs.

I didn't really notice it til people kept making a point to tell me so. But yeah, my memory is gone short term. I've just had it brought right to the front when I sold something I loved to my sister because I was desperate for money then found out I had given it to my aunt two years ago. My sister is not convinced I didn't do it on purpose. But then she thinks everything I tell her. (even the fact that I have leukemia) is just a bid for attention. At 63 I don't have time for those games.
