I have found a prescription medicine called imitrex to help me the most, although there are probably many more that people use on this site. Unfortunately my insurance only pays for 9 pills a month but after elimination sugar free drinks and food they have subsided greatly.
My neurologist also has prescribed me an anti nausea med, reglan, and that w the imitrex really help. I've also been on a small dose of decadron if the headache persists after the 1st imitrex. I found that very helpful. I've had the Botox injections but after 2 sets of them I didn't feel they were helping that much and stopped.
I've also been on gabapentin and lyrica but had bad side effects w them.
You have to find the combo that word best for u!!
Good luck
I was getting migraines and have been getting nauseated for quite some time. Nothing worked. Weird thing was for me a lot of the times I would get nauseous first and then get the migraine. Might have been a sign that my migraine was coming, who knows. I went Gluten Free and a lot less sugar and I don't get the migraines anymore. Still get a little nauseous now and then but not been too bad either. Hope you can find some relief. (HUGS)
Imitrex and sumatriptan are the same drug- hope that helps
Yes. I have always suffered with headaches and migraines as well as other pain. I have had fibromyalgia for 20 years and at the onset of my illness I used to carry a plastic bag around with me because I felt constantly sick. I recently had a ct scan to make sure the headaches are not being caused by anything more sinister but I am still waiting for the results 4 weeks later. The NHS has become diabolocal it really has turned into a joke!
