Look up Infectious Disease Specialists in your area or how far you are willing to go for the best care.
Search his/her academic training and Board Certification. Contact her/his office, advising them of your diagnosis and needs.
Your first visit should be at least 1/2 hr.
Walk your recent reports in, prior, so that you see the office dynamics, pick up any literature, get the receptionist’s first name, etc.
Ask for a Sleep Specialist appointment. Good sleep is what gets us better sooner.
Make your appointment count. Have any questions written so that you don’t forget to ask.
Listen intently, take notes to remember., so that the doctor is not interrupted. They already have enough on their minds.
Start today by calendaring, daily, your symptoms, how often, amt. of sleep, weight gain, diet, etc. Take a typed copy to your appt.
Anything that you can do to help assess you
sooner, is of tremendous help to both you and your new doctor. It’s Teamwork!
