I was diagnosed with the fibro in May, although symptoms started much sooner. I feel pretty confident about this diagnosis, but here lately, I've been experiencing other symptoms. Has anyone ever been to a neurologist to rule out things like CFS or MS? I'm considering requesting a referral.
I was diagnosed with MS in 2006. Was put on medication for it and took iit for years until just a few months ago. I had a different doctor tell me I didn't have MS and yet a third one said I did have it but am in remission, was told to hold off meds until if and/or when it returns. A year ago I was diagnosed with fibro. So far haven't received much help with my fibro. Still in daily pain, brain fog, memory issues. So I guess what I'm saying is, it's hard for even doctors to make a definite diagnosis. Wish I had an answer for you, I'm still looking. The good point? I have a loving family and close friends. I only hope you do too!
A QUALIFIED Infectios Disease Specialist can diagnose you much better and sooner.
A neurologist can run EMG, EEG, etc. However, if there's nerve damage, the tests will come out Negative. The Neuro would have to have a solid argument for your DX, vs. Negative Findings.
