Members confirmed that easy bruising is a common experience with fibromyalgia, with many noting they develop large bruises from minor bumps or pressure that can take over a week to fade, and some bruising so easily they don't even recall the initial contact. Several members shared that the bruising worsens during flare-ups and can be accompanied by heightened sensitivity to touch, swelling in the hands, and a feeling of being bruised even without visible marks. A recurring theme was the relief of discovering others share this symptom and the frustration of doctors dismissing or misunderstanding fibromyalgia, though one member found meaningful relief through tai chi by learning to control muscles properly.

if I read this I would think I was weird, I'm an engineer so logically minded....BUT....
I did not understand I could have some influence on my pain when I was finally referred to a pain centered tai chi course by my pain control nurse, I thought it was just weird Chinese dancing, I was so wrong, its about controlling my muscles the right way, I will be honest it takes years but boy is it worth it. there is real anatomical science behind it learnt over thousands of years. no drugs and it works... THIS ones not another false dawn if you learn how our muscles work...good luck and bless you...

I think some doctors think we are nuts, or it's all in our heads. I Know when I started to get answers all I could think was FINALLY. Though I don't have an answer all I know is with my fibro I to bruise easily.

I don't actually bruise visibly, unless I have actually knocked myself to cause the bruising. But I often feel bruised, especially my hands and they often swell for no apparent reason. I dread shaking hands with people as it often feels like my hands in a vice.
