Members connected over experiencing unexplained bruising and skin changes, with many confirming that easy bruising, mysterious bruises appearing out of nowhere, and splotchy skin are common experiences they've had since developing fibromyalgia. Several members offered practical explanations, including that fibromyalgia is linked to heightened allergies and skin sensitivity, that certain medications like antidepressants or anti-inflammatories can increase bruising, and that supplements like turmeric may interact with medications to cause bleeding issues. A recurring theme was the importance of checking with a doctor or pharmacist about medication side effects, being cautious with sun exposure and new supplements, and recognizing that some people with fibromyalgia become more sensitive or allergic to medications over time.

fibro is a neurological and sensory issue which may have cognitive effects, but not hemopoietic effects. If you are bruising it may be due to the combined effects of some antidepressants and anti-inflammatory medication which may be prescribed for conditions which coexist with fibro, or cause fibro to happen. some folks also use turmeric because they read about the positive effects of this spice and don't realize that it interacts with many medications also causing increased probability of bleeding.

Might be the meds you are taking. Check with your doctor or pharmacist and see if anything you are on can cause blood thinning or something like that. I know that a lot of them you can't be out in the sun with with so maybe it's another side effect.

Bruising easy is a symptom and I think I read somewhere that some people do get splotchy skin, not really a rash. But heightened allergies are a symptom so if you get rashes it could a an allergic reaction.
