I have been having foot pain for the longest time, but it began to become a tenderness along the left side of my left foot while getting foot massages. Then it started to become a sudden pain while walking that makes me lose my balance. I brought it up with my doctor and they did X-rays and found a bone spur towards the heel of my left foot exactly where the sudden pains were located. Hi, I now your pain so well. My PCP said I had Peripheral neuropathy and there is not much that can be done other than medication and or injections. Both of which I'm so tired of. Hope you have better news and better relief.

I experienced the same but not surgery needed. My podiatrist wrapped my feet every week then 2 weeks for a few months, provided a night boot and inserts. Proper supportive shoes also help. Icing at nice also helps after over usage. Soaking in Epison also helps. Stretches were also recommended.
I was advised to purchase a custom insert it was $500. So I purchased a plantar fasciitis foot wrap $10.
