Hello All,

I have been prescribed Lyrica. How did it work for you? If it did not work for you, what did you do?

Members shared widely varying experiences with Lyrica for pain management, with some finding significant relief from nerve pain while others reported serious side effects including extreme drowsiness (leading to accidents in two cases), weight gain, insomnia, and feeling foggy or forgetful. Several members emphasized that everyone responds differently to medications and recommended starting with an open mind, adjusting dosages carefully with medical guidance, and being aware of potential side effects like increased appetite and mood changes. A recurring theme was the trial-and-error nature of finding the right pain management approach, with some members suggesting alternatives like Gabapentin or Cymbalta, and the community offering encouragement to keep trying until finding what works best for their individual situation.

I've been on it for several months. I have gained weight bc of it.. I do not feel like it's helped so much, I'm actually afraid to increase my dosage.

I immediately broke out in hives. I have been taking an anti epileptic off label to target the CNS and dull the pain.

Lyrica can give some people a real appetite and therefore causes weight gain. It is sopposed to be a good medication, but just thought that I would mention this so you are aware.

I have found it helps my nerve pain and before taking Lyrica I was on two different medications for my blood pressure for many years and now I am on only one low dose medication for it so it has helped with that and i have found it has also helped with my anxiety but I am also on the highest dosage. Occasionally I feel like I'm a bit stoned if that makes sense, which is how some feel after taking the first dose. Like all medications people have different results and reactions, i was on tramadol and I felt no Different on or off them I could eat them like lollies, I find it helps me but whatever you decide I wish you the best of luck 😄

What I have learned is to be open minded and optimistic to any treatment. Everyone reacts differently to medications. I have been on lyrica for over 2 years and it helps with nerve pain. It did take some adjusting of my dose to get it right.
