I find sleeping very difficult as I cannot lie on either side because if I do, BOTH of my arms get the tingling pain bad enough to wake me, (if I even manage to sleep, that is), and I try to lay on my back, but then I snore and wake myself! I cannot be alone in this

Members responded to someone struggling with arm numbness and tingling when lying down to sleep, with many sharing they had experienced the same frustrating issue and offering practical solutions that worked for them. Several members found relief by switching to memory foam mattresses or softer toppers to reduce pressure points, using neck alignment pillows to improve positioning, taking magnesium supplements or epsom salt baths before bed to relax muscles, and adjusting sleepwear to avoid constriction. A recurring theme was the creative ways members cope with multiple overlapping challenges, from singing to reduce snoring and lift spirits, to repositioning arms carefully under pillows, all while managing the constant balance between comfort and pain that comes with chronic illness.

Oh my gosh, I thought it was just me. I've even thought about contacting a neurologist, thinking I must have a pinched nerve.

I was the same until I changed my mattress and added a memory foam topper. Turns out my body can't take the pressure of a hard bed. I now have a soft pillow top bed on top of a medium spring frame. With a gorgeous memory foam topper that absorbs my shape.

Since then I sleep on my back and side and no more numbness of pain.

I cannot take pressure on me.

Someone leaning on me or sitting on me totally kills me.

For the snoring I have a memory foam neck alignment pillow that gets your head in the right position. Super soft and comfy and I don't snore on my back.

Check out your bedding!

Also maybe some magnesium before bed to relax those tense muscles and calm your central nervous system.
A cup of epsom salts in a warm bath and a 20 minute soak sorts me out every time.

Or take a magnesium supplement an hour before bedtime.

I hope this helps.

Hang in there.

I used to a lot. One cause was a long sleeve on my night shirt constricting blood flow when it twisted around my arm. I also woke myself up snoring. I think it was my meds at the time.
I still get tingles and numbness from time to time ,but nothing as bad as it was. I'd wake up with a "dead" arm completely asleep. It took quite a while to come back to life.
