Members shared widespread experiences with muscle spasms and twitches throughout their bodies, with leg cramps at night being especially common and painful, sometimes severe enough to wake them from sleep or make walking difficult. Several members found relief through muscle relaxers like Flexeril, Tizanidine, Baclofen, and Robaxin, medications for restless legs such as Mirapex and Requip, magnesium citrate supplements, trigger point injections, heating pads, and non-pharmaceutical approaches including massage, TENS machines, marijuana gummy bears, and eating cherries for their anti-inflammatory properties. A recurring theme was the daily unpredictability and embarrassment of involuntary movements, the challenge of affording treatments on limited incomes or with restrictive insurance, and the frustration when symptoms interfere with sleep, work, and simple tasks like holding objects or getting an IV started.

I can't bend, stand, or reach for something for to long, around my lower back side, it feels like it swells up on me and that's what they're calling muscle spasms, and I thought it was Sciatic Nerve Pain. My problem is the pain level the Dr's want to label me with, they call it mild and moderate, and I call it excruciating pain. You take care of yourself, I feel a little angry, so I'am signing off.

yes! I have both. The twitching seems to be getting worse. My legs seem to have spasms that are extremely painful. Until this group I didn't know these were part of the fibromyalgia "journey".

I too am on muscle relaxers and I get trigger point injections in my neck, shoulder & upper back region...I wish I could afford to add In therapeutic massage 3 days a week and I think this would keep this problem more balanced for me but you do what you can afford & what your insurance pays for.

O yes! I take a muscle relaxer, Robaxin for it. I prefer Soma but my doctor won't write it. I have tried Flexeril but I cannot function on it.
