Hello, I want to stop taking Cymbalta. I'm on a 30mg a day dose. My Rheumatologist said to just stop it, but I'm wondering if I need to taper it down? I don't think 30mg is a big dose so it might be ok. Anyone have any experience of coming off it?

Me, too. I have had fibro for 50 years. Longer than the disease has had a name. Have been through every drug there is. Am on Cymbalta, and it is the worst ever.
Wean yourself from any medication. The side effects from quitting cold turkey are horrendous, especially Cymbalta. The sweats from withdrawal are even worse than when taking it. I was taken off of it because of the tachycardia (I have a heart condition, supra-ventricular tachycardia), and Cymbalta made it worse.
I have heard that you should taper down, withdrawals can be just like those from opiates.
When I stopped taking Cymbalta, I was weaned off of it. Took about two weeks of weaning.
Thank you to everyone for your help, I will take the 15mg for a week and then every other day for a week. x x
