Hello! I am on my second month of 30mg of Cymbalta down from 60mg. I had been on 60mg/day for a couple of years. I can stop the 30mg anytime now, according to my doctor's weening instructions. I am a little bit afraid of it though. I guess I am wondering what others have experienced while weening off--how did you feel imediately after? Long term? Thanks!

Members shared varied experiences weaning off Cymbalta, with some reporting no withdrawal symptoms and others experiencing significant issues like insomnia, jitteriness, and sinus problems that lasted beyond two weeks. Several members recommended a gradual tapering approach, such as spacing doses to every other day, then every two or three days, rather than stopping abruptly, to minimize withdrawal effects. A recurring theme was the importance of following doctor-supervised weaning plans while recognizing that withdrawal experiences differ greatly from person to person, with some finding relief in being medication-free while others struggled with the transition.

Hi I warned myself off under Dr supervision. I was OK up till day 5 of 0mg. That was 2 weeks ago and I am still having awful withdrawal symptoms . They will be different for everyone though. I just hope these symptoms end soon!! Let me know how you get on. All the best. H x

Dear ANna R I was on cymbalta many years ago I was at one point on 120mg a day but eventually I got off all that stuff your correct about the wheening off part .take it slow they don"t want you to have any issues. Most of us have been on a lot of these meds a whole cocktail of different things .They work for some not for others..

I am on day 6 of the reduction from 60 to 30 mg. I've done this before and had no problem but this time I really don't feel well. Oddly my sinuses are acting up again. Cymbalta must have been helping somehow. I also have trouble sleeping so I have to take Melatonin now.

Blue-eyed1 has it perfectly right except I went to taking halfs after the three day for about two weeks. You will still have minor withdrawal symptoms but very little.

Try going from one a day to one every other day, then every 2 days, then 3 days, etc... Last time I weened myself off of anything this helped a lot. No bad side effects.
