I love the Cymbalta because it helps me cope with the pain and depression. It's not a pain blocker but seems to ease the misery associated with the pain. Now maybe that's the serotonin in the brain being affected by it but all I know for sure is I wouldn't be without mine. Side effects can vary , but weight gain happens to be one of them. I've put on ten pounds since starting it 3 years ago , it could've been more but I exercised during this time. I hope this helps you, prayers for less pain.

Hi @A MyFibroTeam Member I was on Cymbalta for a year it was amazing for me but I had some side effects so I had to come off it - it was my fault as I can't swallow tablets so the capsule split in my mouth so as it went down it caused stomach lesions and GERD but it was better than gabapentin and ampitripalyne for me though everyone is different . Good luck and all the best
Cymbalta has been great for me. I have been on it several years. Just be careful if you are on it a long time and try to come off it. You have to taper off can't stop cold turkey. You will have withdraws.
I take Cymbalta and have been for the last 6 - 7 years. I've had no adverse effects from it and it helps me to keep my tears at bay as well as helping with pain.
I also take Gabapantin. It takes a little more edge off the pain.
I do wish, though, that there was a cure.
Perhaps one day there will be.
