How do you find a good lawyer to help you apply for disability that's good and isn't going to rip you off? Or even free help for low income people? In the Kalamazoo no area...any ideas I
Or suggestions?

All states have a BAR association for attorneys licensed in your areas....

Social Security has rules as to how much a lawyer can receive and it's paid to them out of your settlement. Nothing is to be paid up front. The max is $6000. The Social Security website addresses this issue. Don't use a lawyer that wants to be paid up front.

Mine i just got out of the phone book. lol. they won't charge me unless i win and their is a limit to the amount they get. they take a percentage of back pay you are given, up to a certain amount. i have been fighting to get disability for over a year. i tried to work at four different jobs after losing my long time job from migraines and missing work from, what later i found out was Fibro. I have been denied two time with my lawyer and next is court. i was not diagnosed with fibro until after the last denial. so we will see. have had many tests and dr appt. since then so i hope it goes well. i don't have a date yet, waiting for that. it is a long process! If i had money coming in, i could full on fight this health stuff. even with insurance.... it is very expensive to get answers about your health not to mention all the meds. good luck.
